CEREC is the name of Brookview’s amazing new dental mill that creates beautiful, natural-looking replacements for decayed, cracked, or chipped teeth, while you wait! We are one of only a handful of dental practices in the area capable of creating full crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers for you in a matter of minutes. CEREC mills replacment teeth from blocks of compressed porcelain, a material that’s even stronger than the layered porcelain used in most dental labs. Now, for the first time, many complex dental procedures can be completed in just one visit! Here’s How it Works The procedure is surprisingly simple. We’ll start by removing all the decay from the tooth that needs our attention. We may even take a moment to shape the tooth to get it ready for a high-tech digital picture. The tooth is then sprayed with a very fine powder that helps our special intraoral digital camera get the most detailed picture possible. Snapping the picture takes just a moment. Then, the picture is sent to our CEREC computer screen, where it appears in 3 dimensions! Working in 3D, we’ll design a beautiful restoration while you watch! When the design is completed, it’s sent to the nearby CEREC mill which starts making the restoration immediately. Creating the restoration takes only about 15 minutes. It’s fun to watch the mill hard at work. If you like, you can watch, too. Finally, we’ll attach your beautiful new restoration and send you on your way. The whole process, from start to finish, takes only about an hour, and you’ll leave with a beautiful new smile! |
